Computer Science
Aims and ambitions:
The aim of the Computer Science curriculum at Glossopdale is to develop a student’s ability to think Computationally. We embed the cornerstones of computational thinking: abstraction, decomposition, pattern recognition and algorithm creation throughout both key stages. Our aim is to enable students to solve problems with the aid of computational thinking so that they can apply these skills to their GCSE/A Level pathways and across the curriculum. We also embed digital literacy into the curriculum, ensuring that students know how to stay safe using a range of technological devices and platforms. Further to this, we teach students to search smart, analyse results found and question & challenge the validity of sources of information.
