Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at grade four or above in different subjects including English and Maths as well as French at grade 5 or above.

Course Overview

You will practise your written, listening, reading and spoken French through a variety of topics including leisure and lifestyles, social and environmental issues.

Develop an awareness and understanding of contemporary French society, its cultural background and heritage of countries or communities where French is spoken.

The structure of the language and learn to manipulate it.

You will be invited to go to see French films at the Cornerhouse cinema in Manchester to broaden your knowledge of French society.

Students will have the opportunity to go to France to practise their spoken skills and improve fluency before Year 13.

Where will it lead?

Good language skills are highly valued in a range of careers.  This A-Level could lead you onto a degree course with French as a component or the main focus or careers in international Business, Management, Law, the Civil Service, the Travel and Tourism Industries and Teaching at secondary and primary level.
